CBT Direct’s Very Own Stimulus Plan

The stimulus package is on everyone’s mind lately, mostly in the form of individual payments. Americans want to know what’s in it for them…and rightly so. On average per month, “stimulus check(s)” is searched on Google about 614,000 times!

We’re all hoping and praying for a tax break and our very own stimulus check to be handed to us on a silver platter. Then we blame our company, our boss, our colleagues, the customers, the economy, everyone but ourselves for our own unfortunate circumstance. All of these things have an affect on our situation, but the only way to fix it is to take some responsibility and learn from it in order to turn it around.

With CBT Direct’s Stimulus Plan, we can stimulate the entire workforce plus those struggling to re-enter the workforce. We will create jobs for people. And although we’re not going to send you a check in one lump-sum, we won’t give you a few pennies a day, either. Here’s our stimulus plan for you:

1.) Buy things.

We all know the economy is affected by what we spend. So if we want the economy to get better, we need to do our part as best we can. If you thought saving your money for a “rainy day” was the smartest way to live, well, it’s been pouring for a year now. Of course, don’t go on a crazy spending spree and dish out money you don’t have, but if you need something now, don’t be so afraid to take advantage of other companies’ stimulus strategies.

2.) Get trained.

Upgrading your skill set will create better opportunities for you, whether you’re currently working or unemployed and looking for a job. A recent certification in your current job shows dedication in your field and certifications on your resume will improve your marketability and move you to the top of the interview pile. No matter how many storms the economy brings, it’s your choice to bring out the sunshine from the dark clouds. TechRepublic stated in their 2008 IT Skills and Salary Report, that “the level of your success in satisfaction and in salary is a direct result of your investment in yourself.”

So do your research on investing in yourself. Or better yet, take a look at the research we’ve done for you already! Find out which areas of IT are least affected by the economy and compare the average salaries for your specific IT area in your metropolitan area versus the rest of the U.S.

Last but cert-ainly not least, take an IT IQ test to find out what you really know. Which certification is right for you at this point of your career? You can get certification training in: Microsoft MCSE and MCITP, .NET, Java, Cisco CCENT, CCNA, CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+ and much more than we can list here. You can even save $500 off our Cert-of-the-Week certification courses! How’s that for a stimulus plan?

“Several Have Gotten Good Jobs”

That is a straight quote from one of our recent Certification Boot Camp students about his fellow Boot Camp classmates. CBT XPress Boot Camps are the fastest, most affordable way to get your certification and make the “impossible” – getting a job in this economy – possible again.

Here is what he had to say about his experience:

"Thanks for all of your help with the classes and scheduling and flights, etc. CBT XPress was great to work with and I've already told my boss that if he sends my techs to training, that they should go through YOUR program. It WAS a hectic two weeks, but well worth the time and lack of sleep. Take care, keep in touch! I've been in contact with many of my classmates from Florida and several have gotten good jobs - that's nice to know. Sometimes they're asking techie questions via email, other times they just want to chat. It's good to have tech contacts all over the world; thanks for that, too!!"

CBT XPress Certification Boot Camps include CompTIA A+, Network+ and Security+ Boot Camps; Microsoft MCITP Enterprise Administrator 2008; MCSE 2003; MCITP Messaging Administrator; Cisco CCENT and CCNA Boot Camps; for certification at the luxurious Safety Harbor Resort and Spa in Tampa Bay, Florida. For advice on CBT XPress Boot Camps, call 1-877-872-4646 Monday through Friday, 9am-6pm.

Tech Toys

We come across some pretty cool innovations every day. Here are a couple examples, thanks to the Jan/Feb 2009 edition of M2M magazine:

Smart Carts - Depending where you shop, you have probably seen these already. It’s like having your own GPS for in-store items. The CONCIERGE system gives you LCD touch-screen access to help you find exactly what you’re looking for in the store through the store’s wireless network. The Concierge also tracks the items you want to purchase as you fill up your cart with a built-in scanner, while the calculator keeps track of how much money you’re spending. Smart Carts recognize you and your spending habits by scanning your loyalty card and it offers recipes, how-to tips and
coupons for the items you’re buying!

MacTrak and GadgetTrak - Afraid someone may steal your computer or gadget? Catch ’em with MacTrak or GadgetTrak! According to the website and the FBI, “1 out of every 10 laptops will be stolen within 12 months of purchase. GadgetTrak Search and Destroy provides tracking data and the ability to destroy sensitive information remotely so that your sensitive personal information is removed, leaving the operating system, files and GadgetTrak software to help you recover things later. MacTrak even takes a picture of the thief!
